Privacy policy
Short version: the calculators run in your browser and what you type into them is never saved or sent. If you sign up we keep your email address and your choice of interest, and your account details in the app, to run your account and write to you about it.
What we collect
When you sign up on this site: your email address, the interest you chose (for example habits, food or journal), the page you joined from and the date and time.
When you visit: standard page view information through Google Analytics 4, such as the pages you view, your approximate location, device type and how you arrived. When you use a calculator, we record only that the tool was used and its name. We never record the numbers you enter. Analytics does not run if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
What we do not collect
Anything you type into a calculator stays in your browser and is not saved or sent anywhere. This website does not contain the Daily Journal app and cannot see anything inside it. We do not sell personal information.
How we use it
We use your email address to tell you when a place opens in the app and to answer you if you write to us. We use analytics to see which pages and tools are useful so we can improve them.
Who it is shared with
Service providers who help us run the site: hosting, the database that stores sign ups, email sending and analytics. Some of these may store or process information outside Australia. We do not share your email address with anyone else for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep your details until you ask us to remove them or you close your account. Analytics data is kept for the period set in our analytics account.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or ask to close your account, by using the form on the contact page. You can also block analytics cookies in your browser; the cookies page explains what is used.
Who we are
This site is run by the Daily Journal team. You can reach us from the contact page.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page.
